  1. That reminds me, you never posted about seeing Luna Sea! That surprises me. 😮
So far I’ve seen FAR more bands since 2007 than I ever thought I would. It’s most hard to believe I’ve seen X Japan, VAMPS which is essentially Hyde and Kaz, Dir en Grey, the Underneath….

There’s more on the list but those are the ones I want to see most. Unfortunately the Underneath lost one member and I haven’t heard much about them since then..

But the best show I’ve been to? That’s a tough one! I saw Mucc, The Underneath, and D’espairs ray as my first concert, but the crowd was mostly there for American bands and didn’t react very well. So what should have been a great experience was stifled by the audience.

The Underneath at Otakon was pretty damn good, I’m happy I got to see them again. Everything from the lighting to of course Taka’s voice was perfect, and it was very emotional and moving.

VAMPS was the most intense!! While of course there was a lot of head banging at the Dir en Grey concert, Hyde, Ju-Ken, and Kaz were masters at riling up the crowd. There were jokes, strip teases, and of course, rocking music!!!

Dir en Grey was everything I expected performance wise, but didn’t interact the crowd at all. I can’t even recall Kyo introducing themselves or greeting the crowd. And X Japan was of course wonderful but there was an incident that happened where my mom nearly fainted in the crowd so while it wasn’t ruined, a quarter of the performance was kind of ignored in favor of making sure mom was okay.

    • Seeing Luna Sea live is one of the posts yet to be finished, hahaha. I’m slowly working on all of them!

I’m very sad I missed Taste of Chaos, because I never got to see the Underneath perform. I think they disbanded but don’t quote me on that. It’s cool you got to see them twice. I’m glad they were good live. ^^v

Dir en grey don’t usually interact much with the crowd in terms of greetings, band introductions, and the like, but even the dvds I’ve seen from earlier Japanese shows of theirs are the same way. Diru seem to like to keep it all about the music, which I find refreshing. They always put on a good show, and they keep getting better every time they tour. ❤

I hope your mom was okay! That had to have been scary.

      Thanks for commenting!

  2. Just so you know the Underneath disbanded but reunited as Defspiral, minus one member. They have a myspace, too. Looking forward to your Luna Sea post!
